We identify, develop and create value

API Invest & Finanz AG has set itself the task of perpetuating Swiss values and simultaneously identifying and fostering new potential. And all with the goal of benefiting from the development of these companies.

At the same time we want to provide a select circle of co-investors with the opportunity to participate in the success of the individual companies by investing in them. Our portfolio already contains a wide range of investment possibilities. There are so-called risk-averse companies, which therefore offer the expectation of more conservative returns, as well as innovative firms offering the prospect of higher returns attended by higher risks. This range ensures that investors can always find the right product for them.

In order to manage these companies with high levels of security and generate added value through its careful custody of them, API Invest & Finanz AG has a team that possesses all the requisite technical and interpersonal skills. If necessary, this now highly successful team will be systematically expanded.

As a matter of principle, API Invest & Finanz AG takes a lead investment in the companies on its books, thereby ensuring that the interests of API Invest & Finanz AG are consistent with those of the investors. This gives rise to the shared goal of running these enterprises successfully and profitably on a sustained basis.

The management team

Michel Stopnicer, Chairman of supervisory board

Michel Stopnicer was involved for many years in the operational management of national and international retail and consumer goods enterprises. His particular focus was on marketing, sales and distribution. Over the course of his career he has been responsible, as CEO, for the successful repositioning of a number of companies. He has been an independent management consultant for over ten years. As Senior Partner of MENZI & PARTNER he is involved primarily in strategic management consulting and heads the M&A team.

Pierre von Mentlen, Board Member and CEO

Pierre von Mentlen is an innovative and inventive entrepreneur and a decisive, goal-oriented instigator who founded and built up API Invest & Finanz AG. He possesses extensive and wide-ranging experience of the Telecoms, Information Technology, Real Estate and Service sectors. API Invest & Finanz AG also benefits from Pierre von Mentlen’s wide circle of attractive connections based around his many entrepreneurial and successful sporting activities as an active racing driver and sponsor of the National League A ice hockey club HC Ambri-Piotta as well as various other sporting events and organisations.

Dr. Thomas Borer, Board Member

As a former ambassador and internationally experienced businessman, Dr. Thomas Borer contributes a wide network of contacts to API Invest & Finanz AG. Since retiring from politics, he has worked as a consultant for various different companies and is currently Chairman and CEO of a Swiss firm that develops chemical-physical solutions to protect against product falsification. Thomas Borer has been awarded the “Orden wider den tierischen Ernst” for his humanity and humour in “combating deadly seriousness”.

Max Suter, Board Member

Max Suter has been an active entrepreneur for over 25 years. He founded his first trust company in the 1980s having previously held a senior position in a major bank. Max Suter has been contributing to the success of Pierre von Mentlen’s group of companies for more than a decade, during which time he has benefited the individual firms with his accounting, management consultancy and financial management experience. He possesses an invaluable store of experience.

Stefano Rizzo, Board Member

Stefano Rizzo can point to a wide-ranging record of achievement within API Invest & Finanz AG’s various firms. He is a proven specialist in information technology and telecoms projects and possesses the necessary pioneering spirit to be able to implement ideas and projects with great success.

Ramon Saruz

As an expert in both the European and American markets, Ramon Saruz has already enjoyed a successful career with various well-known investment banks, as a stock trader and also as a Custody and Key Account Manager and specialises among other things in derivatives trading.

Ramon Saruz possesses a broad, well-founded knowledge of new issues, stock market listing procedures and the company potential required for this, and among other things is responsible at API Invest & Finanz AG (Switzerland) for answering any questions concerning markets, company potential and future prospects.
